About us
Multi RHS Gold Medal winning Landscape Architecture and Garden Design practice.
Run by Wife and Husband team Vic and Joe Wade from their base in Swansea in South Wales, Victoria Wade Landscape Architecture is a thriving Landscape Institute registered practice that has been creating incredible outside spaces since 2013.
Our focus is on high end residential and community projects that enable people to develop deeper relationships to the natural world through sympathetic, robust and sustainable landscape design that creates inspiring, beautiful outdoor spaces for people and wildlife to enjoy.
The landscapes we create bring the wildness of the natural world together with simple, contemporary design. Imagine an abundance of planting; clean lines softened with natural materials that age gracefully; usable, practical spaces rooted in both the landscape and the lifestyle of their clients.
Meet Vic & Joe
2006 saw the start of a truly symbiotic relationship…
Meeting in freshers week in Sheffield Uni, Vic an Architecture student and Joe a Landscape Architecture student, found they had more in common than just a love of rugby and nights out. 7 years of working and living together in dingy student digs showed them early on they had a good thing going. Vic still credits Joe and his degree today for showing her that her life long passion for design and love of nature was better channelled into landscapes than architecture alone.
After graduating with a masters in Landscape Architecture in 2013, Vic’s insatiable creativity and independent spirit meant it was inevitable that she would abandon convention and set up her own business. Meanwhile Joe cut his teeth in a range of commercial landscape architecture firms working on schools, hospitals and public realm. Vic could see pretty quickly he was a bit too good to be left to the competition so poached him into her landscape design business in 2015 after he completed his Chartership. Now there’s no stopping them.
Victoria Wade Landscape Architecture has grown from strength to strength. Now living in Swansea, South Wales with their young daughter and a whole menagerie of animals, Vic and Joe have shared nineteen years of passion for design and the outdoors which has nurtured a unique partnership from which incredible, natural and highly liveable outdoor spaces are born.

Ever the life-long learners, Vic and Joe are endlessly committed to increasing their knowledge about those things they are passionate about bringing to their clients and their own garden. In 2022 they set up sustainable plant nursery based in Gower, to supply the plants for their local projects and improve the efficiency and environmental impact.
Ongoing professional development of all things design and planting over the years includes: ecological planting design, forest gardening, permaculture design, eco-building techniques, natural swimming pools, cut flowers, green roofs and living walls… the list goes on and the bookshelves continue to groan under the weight of Vic’s rather obsessive thirst for knowledge...

Our Ethos
Our ethos is simple, to create beautiful, natural spaces that inspire people to get outdoors in any way that makes them happy.
Because that’s the potential of your garden, a fun, beautiful, inspirational space where you can sit, potter, garden, entertain, play or relax…whilst doing your bit for nature on the way.
